The Board of Supervisors is building their strategic plan for the year and North Bay Jobs with Justice (and the Alliance for a Just Recovery) is calling for us to help ensure that the $15 Min Wage remains a priority and is not pushed off to the end of the year. Please plan to come January 28th, location TBD and not sure what time public comment is but please plan to show up at some point that day. We will provide time and location details once we know them.
We want the County to move to $15.53 in 2021 to meet the other cities that have passed the NBJwJ ordinance. This is critical for low-wage workers in unincorporated areas, particularly farmworkers. Please help us push on the Supervisors and Chair Susan Gorin to prioritize this early this year. If it doesn’t pass at the BOS with enough months to implement they’ll use that as an excuse to push it back to 2022 or not do it.
