The Sonoma County Democrats presented a resolution to the Board of Supervisors in Nov. 2019, to protect forest habitat by calling for a temporary “time out” on significant tree removal proposals until such time as the update of the Tree Protection Ordinance is completed. The Board has not acted on this resolution or updated the ordinance and native oak habitat is being cut down for vineyards. Read the resolution.
